Vieng Thai
About This Spot
Stepping into Vieng Thai, you find yourself welcomed by the quiet charm of a family-owned neighborhood restaurant tucked away on Long Point Road. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in and soak up the simple, spacious interior that feels both familiar and thoughtfully cared for. It’s the kind of spot where the hum of friendly conversations mingles with the subtle warmth of hospitality, creating a relaxed backdrop for an authentic Thai dining experience.
The atmosphere is straightforward but genuine—no flashy decor, just a clean and comfortable setting where the focus gently nudges you toward the food and the shared moments around the table. Whether it’s a quick lunch break or a casual dinner, there’s a comforting rhythm in how the kitchen moves: appetizers arrive promptly, warming the palate with vibrant layers of flavor, followed closely by entrees that carry the unmistakable touch of home-cooked care.
At Vieng Thai, the menu acts as a personal introduction to Thailand’s rich culinary tapestry without overwhelming you. You can feel the dedication in each dish, from the fragrant, herb-laced bites of larb to the satisfying embrace of a gently spiced curry. Everything is made from scratch, thoughtfully balancing familiar favorites with quieter invitations to try something new, like a broth-simmered noodle soup that quietly comforts or fresh rolls that carry a lightness and snap of texture. If you’re one to appreciate nuanced heat, letting the kitchen know your preferred spice level ensures your meal sings with just the right kick.
This is a place where regulars return not for spectacle but for consistency and warmth—the kind of spot that quietly earns a place in the rhythm of your week. The staff moves with casual attentiveness, topping off drinks without intrusion and offering a steady stream of friendly smiles. Ample parking and a tucked-away location mean it’s a little hidden gem, discovered more often by word of mouth than by neon signs.
Ultimately, Vieng Thai feels less like a restaurant and more like a pause in your day: a moment to share simple, flavorful food, to linger over good conversation, and to discover that warmth can be found in the quiet corners of a well-loved neighborhood table.

I was super surprised when I realized there was a Thai restaurant here, it is hidden in a small strip so I didn't know. The place is so spacious and has a lot of upgrades, it could use some more upgrades but it's a little quaint restaurants. Our appetizers came out super fast and they were delicious, had so much flavors! The entrees came out almost right behind them and they were so yummy! The serve good portions on their plates. I definitely recommend this spot!

Extremely consistent Thai food with some great flavor. I have tried various dishes and all of them have been great. Their soups are excellent and the pad Thai is always a favorite. Chicken Larb is a lighter classic and you can never go wrong with any of the curries. Make sure you tell them how hot you want it. They will not make it spicy if you don’t tell them to.

The food is sooo good here!! I used to eat her 1x week when I worked nearby. The flavors are so rich and well developed. The waitress says everything is made from scratch. Cheese Rolls and Green Curry Chicken

Outstanding food and service. The menu is varied 3 kinds of curry vegan and standard choices.and has favourites as, well as options to explore the service is prompt and friendly your drink stays full never out of rice. In a strip centre on Long.Point. Not.posh, but spotless. Reasonably priced. Ample parking recently returned to this family-owned restaurant that I hadn't visited in a while. My friend loves the Pad Thai, and I was pleasantly surprised to find many vegan options on the menu. The food is outstanding, the service is friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. It's located in a strip centre with ample parking.

I typically order to go. I get the shrimp fried rice and green chicken curry. It’s a lot of food. I typically have leftovers for the next day. Food taste amazing and the atmosphere of the restaurant seems nice. everything is well kept and clean just from a visual standpoint. I will continue to get my food from here
